A composition and method for activating immune cells ex-vivo, or inducing an immune response in a subject including a composition comprising at least one chiral cationic lipid. The chiral cationic lipid in one embodiment comprises a nonsteroidal cationic lipid having a structure represented by formula (I); wherein in R1 is a quaternary ammonium group, Y1 is a spacer chosen from a hydrocarbon chain, an ester, a ketone, and a peptide, C* is a chiral carbon, R1 and R3 are independently chosen from a saturated fatty acid, an unsaturated fatty acid, an ester-linked hydrocarbon, phosphor-diesters, and combinations thereof.
La présente invention concerne une composition et un procédé permettant dactiver des cellules immunitaires ex vivo, ou dinduire une réponse immunitaire chez un sujet, notamment une composition comprenant au moins un lipide cationique chiral. Dans un mode de réalisation selon linvention, le lipide cationique chiral comprend un lipide cationique non stéroïdien ayant une structure représentée par la formule (I). Dans cette formule (I), R1 représente un groupe ammonium quaternaire, Y1 représente un espaceur choisi parmi un chaîne hydrocarbonée, un ester, une cétone, et un peptide, C* représente un carbone chiral, R2 et R3 sont indépendamment choisis parmi un acide gras saturé, un acide gras insaturé, un hydrocarbure à liaison ester, des phosphodiesters, et leurs combinaisons.
