The conservation apparatus is in the form of an elongate strip of water resistant barrier material which may be arranged in an upstanding attitude along a selected horizontal ground contour whereby the flow of water across the ground contour, together with the material carried thereby, is restrained from continuing its down-hill flow and eroding the ground.
