The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device in which the medicament to be delivered is stored within a cartridge having a displaceable piston therein. The displaceable piston is driven to expel medicament by way of a lead screw (6) that is advanced and retracted by way of a suitable drive mechanism (14). A guideway (16) through which the lead screw travels is provided. However, in known devices the guideway is held in position by other components of the apparatus. Such devices can be complex to manufacture. Also they may require disassembly and reassembly when a cartridge is to be replaced. This is a disadvantage if the user, as is common amongst those with diabetes, is infirm or has impaired vision. A medicament delivery device is disclosed comprising a main housing (3), a threaded lead screw (6) having opposing flat surfaces, rotary driving means (14) having inner wall surfaces corresponding to the opposing flat surfaces of the lead screw and a guide housing (16) having an opening through which the threaded lead screw is received wherein the guide housing is permanently fixed to the main housing.
La présente invention a trait à un dispositif de distribution de médicament, dans lequel le médicament à distribuer est stocké à l'intérieur d'une cartouche contenant un piston déplaçable. Le piston déplaçable est entraîné de façon à expulser le médicament au moyen d'une vis-mère (6) qui avance et se rétracte sous l'effet d'un mécanisme d'entraînement approprié (14). Le dispositif comprend également une voie de guidage (16) à travers laquelle circule la vis-mère. Cependant, dans les dispositifs connus, la voie de guidage est maintenue en place par d'autres éléments de l'appareil. De tels dispositifs peuvent être complexes à fabriquer. Ils peuvent également nécessiter un désassemblage et un réassemblage lors du remplacement d'une cartouche. Cette caractéristique constitue un désavantage si l'utilisateur, comme c'est souvent le cas chez les diabétiques, est infirme ou est atteint d'une déficience visuelle. L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif de distribution de médicament comprenant un logement principal (3), une vis-mère filetée (6) comportant des surfaces plates opposées, des moyens d'entraînement rotatifs (14) possédant des surfaces de parois internes correspondant aux surfaces plates opposées de la vis-mère, et un logement de guide (16) possédant une ouverture à travers laquelle est reçu la vis-mère filetée, le logement de guide étant fixé de manière permanente au logement principal.
