ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An acid dye staining method for electrophore- tically separated fractions on a supporting matrix characterized by fixing the supporting matrix after electrophoresis with an aqueous solution containing a lower alcohol and an organic acid, followed by staining with an acid dye solution mixed with at least one specified acid, can reduce a time required fox staining remarkably and improve the sensitivity greatly.
