Page 1 Abstract This invention solves the problem of moisturizing of materials underlining the surgical orthopaedic cast. The invention allows to raise the standard of hygiene, and improves skin's respiration by providing ventilation into a space under the cast. Process of ventilation occurs in a manner of drawing away the transpiration products and forcing a flow of air and medically useful substances into a space within the cast. Also it enables a continuous analysis of microbiological processes, that, take place under the cast without breaking or taking it off. This is the way that this apparatus works; within a space of the surgical cast, between the surface of body, and the outer surface of a surgical cast, a layer of drains that enforces the flow of gases within the said space, is placed. Drains, are joined by a pipe, to an apparatus outside the surgical cast, such as medicine dispenser microbiological filter with chemical - microbiological analyzer, with the heat exchanger containing thermostat, ozone generator with an oxygen access, air filter, and a draw - lift pump with reversible actions. Elements of the apparatus located outside the surgical cast can be hooked up separately and in different and independent order, also they can be turn off depending on the demanded treatments. Activating and deactivating of the elements depends on actions such as drying of the surgical cast, or simultaneous drying and disinfecting of the surgical cast as well as, simultaneous drying and diagnosing of the microbiological processes are carried on. This apparatus is very applicable in long term healing processes where the surgical cast has to be kept for extended period of time. 15 claims 10 drawing figures
