ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE NON-PLUGGING MINIATURE SEAL UNIT The Non-Plugging Miniature Seal Unit is a device which is attached to the inlet connection of a pressure instrument to isolate its measuring element from the process fluid. The space between the diaphragm and the pressure element is solidly filled with a suitable liquid. Displacement of the liquid fill in the pressure element, through movement of the diaphragm, transmits process pressure changes directly to a gauge, transmitter, switch or other pressure instrument. The Non-Plugging Miniature Seal is different from any other invention of this type, because it has a small diameter sensing diaphragm which can be located flush with the inside wall of a pipe to prevent plugging due to suspended solids in the fluid. The Seal Unit can be used on low or high pressure applications. It is self-temperature compensated, very sen- sitive and can easily be installed with standard fittings on large or small pipes as well as on vessels.
