Dental implant drill holes (34) and the shape of a dental implant superstructure (48) are chosen by creating a computer model (29) giving jawbone structural details (41, 42), gum surface shape information (46) and proposed teeth or dental prosthesis shape information (43). The computer model shows the bone structure (41, 42), gum surface (46) and teeth images (43) properly referenced to one another so that implant drill hole positions (34) can be selected taking into consideration proper positioning within the bone as well as proper positioning with respect to the dental prosthesis. Similarly, manufacture of the dental implant superstructure (48) used for fixed dental prosthesis or overdentures can be designed based on the virtual implant positions referenced to an image of the gum surface (46) and proposed dental prosthesis (43).
Selon l'invention, des trous de forage d'implant dentaire (34) et la forme de superstructure d'un implant dentaire (48) sont choisis par création d'un modèle informatique (29) donnant des détails de structure de la mâchoire (41, 42), une information de forme de surface de gencive (46) et une information de forme de prothèse dentaire ou de dent proposée (43). Le modèle informatique présente la structure de l'os (41, 42), la surface gingivale (46) et des images des dents (43) référencées correctement l'une par rapport à l'autre de façon que les positions de forage d'implant (34) puissent être sélectionnées en considération du positionnement adéquat dans l'os aussi bien que par rapport à la prothèse dentaire. De la même manière, la fabrication de la superstructure de l'implant dentaire (48) utilisée afin de fixer la prothèse dentaire ou des prothèse supra-dentaires peut être réalisée sur la base des positions virtuelles d'implant par rapport à une image de la surface gingivale (46) et de la prothèse dentaire proposée (43).
