The present invention is directed to nuclear factor kB (NFkB)-inducing factor polypeptides (NFIF polypeptides) which are capable of inducing NKkB. The present invention includes within its scope NFIF polypeptides, including NFIF- 14b and NFIF-7a, DNA, including cDNA, encoding these polypeptides, and expression vectors capable of expressing NFIF polypeptides. Also included are methods and compositions for increasing NFkB induction in a patient, methods and compositions for lowering NFkB induction in a patient, methods for inhibiting inflammation, and methods for manufacture of a medicament intended for the treament and/or prevention of an NFkB-regulated inflammatory response. In addition, methods for determining whether a test compound inhibits or enhances the activity of NFIF polypeptides are provided.
L'invention, qui porte sur des polypeptides facteurs (dits NFIF) inducteurs du facteur nucléaire kB (NFkB), englobe les polypeptides NFIF dont le NFIF-14b et le NFIF-7a, l'ADN dont l'ADNc codant pour ces polypeptides, et les vecteurs d'expression capable d'exprimer ces polypeptides. L'invention porte également sur des procédés et compositions renforçant l'induction de NFkB chez un patient, sur des procédés et compositions diminuant l'induction de NFkB chez un patient, sur des procédés d'inhibition de l'inflammation, et sur des procédés d'élaboration d'un médicament curatif et/ou préventif d'une réponse inflammatoire régulée par le NFkB. L'invention porte en outre sur des procédés permettant de déterminer si un composés essayé inhibe ou renforce l'activité des polypeptides NFIF.
