ABSTRACT CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY This assembly includes a circuit board (1) with an optical fiber (4) embedded in a flexible layer (5) of the board. The flexible layer is brought out of the board via on opening (8) in the upper layer (3) thereof to allow coupling of the fiber with an input/output device e.g. another fiber. In an alternative embodiment the flexible layer (5) extends beyond the edge(s) of the board. Fig. 2
