A method and apparatus for separating heterogenous mixtures of at least two components, including immiscible liquid/liquid mixtures or solid/liquid mixtures. The apparatus allows pre-separation before the influent enters the separator proper. Solutions enter a channel (10) at the same end (6) of the tank that the effluent is removed, and undergo some separation as they flow along the length of the separator tank (50) to the end (2) opposite the effluent end, where they enter the tank proper. The solutions then continue to separate as they flow through the tank to the effluent removal means.
Procédé et appareil permettant de séparer des mélanges hétérogènes d'au moins deux composants, comprenant des mélanges immiscibles liquide/liquide ou solide/solide. Cet appareil permet une pré-séparation avant que le mélange entre dans le séparateur proprement dit. Les solutions entrent dans un canal (10) à la même extrémité (6) de la cuve d'où l'on soutire l'effluent, et subissent une séparation à mesure qu'elles s'écoulent le long de la cuve du séparateur (50) jusqu'à l'extrémité (2) située en face de l'extrémité d'effluent, où elles entrent dans la cuve.
