A method of treating involuntary muscle dysfunctions includes administering a therapeutically effective amount of relaxin to a patient. Involuntary muscle dysfunctions amenable to treatment with relaxin include fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, dystonia, pelvic floor dysfunction, irritable bowel syndrome, and others.
