Ce dispositif, comprenant des rouleaux destinés à séparer des particules présentant des granulométries différentes, se compose d'une pluralité de rouleaux adjacents (11) formant un ensemble sélection dans lequel chaque rouleau (11) possède une forme de surface délimitant une pluralité de crêtes périphériques (12) alternant avec des rainures périphériques (13). Ces rouleaux (11) présentent au moins une position de travail dans laquelle les rainures (13) d'un rouleau sont situées en face des crêtes (12) du rouleau adjacent (11) et sont engrenées au moins partiellement par ces crêtes; l'espace d'échappement (18) situé entre deux rouleaux adjacents (11) présente un développement sensiblement en zigzag et, dans certains rouleaux au moins (11), la surface de raccord (26) entre les crêtes (12) et les rainures (13), et/ou la surface elle-même des crêtes (12) et/ou des rainures (13), sont au moins partiellement travaillées pour présenter des protubérances, des parties saillantes, des creux et/ou des facettes (23, 24, 25).
