A sensor body (50) for use in a pig (10) for determining characteristics of a pipeline wall (21) though which the pig passes includes a circuit board (52) and a single coil (54) wrapped around the circuit board. A microcontroller (58) is mounted to the circuit board and connected to the single coil and configured to induce a waveform on the coil to thereby create an eddy current in the pipeline wall adjacent the sensor body. The microcontroller is also configured to measure changes in a characteristic of the induced waveform on the single coil that correspond to the presence of anomalies on an inside diameter of the pipeline wall. The sensor body also includes a sensor body cover (60) molded about the circuit board, the microcontroller and the single coil. The sensor body cover consists essentially of a wear resistant, non- conductive material that includes a polymer material.
Corps détecteur (50) destiné à être utilisé dans un piston-racleur (10) en vue de déterminer des caractéristiques d~une paroi (21) d~un pipeline dans lequel passe le piston-racleur, comportant une carte imprimée (52) et une bobine unique (54) enroulée autour de la carte imprimée. Un microcontrôleur (58) monté sur la carte imprimée et relié à la bobine unique est configuré pour induire une forme d~onde sur la bobine de manière à générer des courants de Foucault dans la paroi du pipeline à proximité du corps détecteur. Le capot de corps détecteur est essentiellement constitué d~un matériau non conducteur résistant à l~usure incorporant une matière polymère.
