Abstract of the Disclosure The invention relates to devices for coupling two cylindrical substrates which comprise an outer heat-shrinkable metal sleeve and an inner metal sleeve. According to the invention, improved results are obtained by using an inner sleeve which is shaped so that the outer sleeve, when it is shrunk to form the coupling, assumes a generally barrel-shaped configuration. The new coupling devices are particularly useful for coupling together pipes, e.g. in hydraulic systems.
