A wedge connector assembly includes a spring member having a generally C- shaped body with an inner surface, and a wedge member having opposed first and second sides. The wedge member is mated with the spring member such that the wedge member is configured to securely retain a first conductor between the first side and the spring member and a second conductor between the second side and the spring member. The wedge member has at least two final mating positions based on the orientation of the wedge member with respect to the spring member. Optionally, the wedge member may have two orientations, namely a first orientation and a second orientation, wherein the first and second sides are flipped with respect to one another in the first and second orientations. A top of the wedge member may engage the inner surface in the first orientation and a bottom of the wedge member may engage the inner surface in the second orientation.

L'invention concerne un ensemble connecteur à coincement comprenant un élément ressort présentant généralement une forme de C et pourvu d'une surface intérieure, et un élément coin comportant des premier et deuxième côtés opposés. L'élément coin est accouplé à l'élément ressort de sorte à retenir solidement un premier conducteur entre le premier côté et l'élément ressort et un deuxième conducteur entre le deuxième côté et l'élément ressort. L'élément coin présente au moins deux positions d'accouplement finales qui sont fonction de son orientation par rapport à l'élément ressort. Facultativement, l'élément coin peut présenter deux orientations, à savoir une première et une deuxième orientation, les premier et deuxième côtés étant retournés l'un par rapport à l'autre dans les première et deuxième orientations. La partie supérieure de l'élément coin peut venir en contact avec la surface intérieure dans la première orientation et la partie inférieure dudit élément peut venir en contact avec la surface intérieure dans la deuxième orientation.
