The erectable shelter (10) includes a truss framework that provides an elevated, raised canopy (12) that can have a high peak in a raised, extended configuration. The shelter (10) includes a canopy (12), a leg assembly (18), and a perimeter truss linkage assembly (40) having a plurality of perimeter truss pairs (42) of link members connected to the leg assembly (18). The legs (18) preferably have telescoping upper and lower sections (20, 22) with lower section (22) for engagement with ground, and a slider member (32) slidably mounted to the upper section (20) of each of the legs (18). A canopy peak support assembly (150) is provided that is movable between a raised position and a lowered position, with the canopy peak support assembly (150) supporting the canopy (12) above the top of the leg assembly (18) in the raised position. The canopy peak support assembly (150) includes a flexible center support member (130) such as a rubber tube or spring coil that can bend in response to the force of strong winds.
