A mine ventilation curtain (1, 20) is provided comprising, in the operative condition, a generally upright curtain or barrier extending from a foot wall (4) in an underground mine to an overhanging hanging wall (5, 25). The curtain has a foot wall compartment (3, 22) of a flexible sheet material with the footwall compartment being operatively filled with a suitable optionally settable fluent material (13, 27) such that the lower edge of the curtain or barrier substantially adopts an undulating shape of the adjacent foot wall. The fluent material is selected from a suitably heavy liquid and an optionally settable slurry of grout or backfill material. The mine ventilation curtain may be a flexible ventilation curtain (2) extending upwards from the foot wall compartment (3) and having its uppermost edge held in close association with the hanging wall. Alternatively, the mine ventilation curtain may be a generally rigid ventilation barrier (20) in the form of longitudinal segments each of which comprises a series of optionally interconnected superjacent compartments (22, 23, 24) extending from the footwall to the hanging wall with the uppermost compartment (24) adopting an undulating shape of the adjacent hanging wall.
L'invention concerne un rideau de ventilation de mine (1, 20) qui comprend, en fonctionnement, une barrière ou un rideau généralement vertical s'étendant d'une éponte inférieure (4) de mine souterraine jusqu'à une paroi suspendue en surplomb (5, 25). Le rideau comprend un compartiment d'éponte inférieure (3, 22) de matériau en feuille souple à compartiment d'éponte inférieure rempli de manière fonctionnelle d'un matériau fluant (13, 27) pouvant éventuellement être mis en forme de sorte que le bord inférieur du rideau ou de la barrière adopte la forme sensiblement ondulante de l'éponte inférieure adjacente. Le matériau fluant est sélectionné parmi un liquide lourd approprié et une boue de coulis ou un matériau de remplissage pouvant éventuellement être mis en forme. Le rideau de ventilation de mine peut consister en un rideau de ventilation souple (2) s'étendant vers le haut à partir du compartiment d'éponte inférieure (3) et possédant son bord le plus haut étroitement lié à la paroi suspendue. Dans un autre mode de réalisation de cette invention, le rideau de ventilation de mine peut consister en une barrière de ventilation généralement rigide (20) sous forme de segments longitudinaux chacun comprenant une série de compartiments surjacents éventuellement reliés entre eux (22, 23, 24) s'étendant de l'éponte inférieure jusqu'à la paroi suspendue avec le compartiment le plus haut (24) de la forme ondulante de la paroi suspendue adjacente.
