The present invention relates to live attenuated Salmonella cultures for use as vaccines. The Salmonella cultures of the present invention have a substantially reduced capacity to grow and replicate in the presence of bile. The reduced capacity for growth is due to a metabolic-drift mutation induced by exposure to a combination of nalidixic acid and rifampicin for a time and under conditions sufficient to induce the mutation.
L'invention concerne des cultures de salmonelles atténuées vivantes à utiliser pour des vaccins. Ces cultures de salmonelles présentent une capacité sensiblement réduite à croître et à se répliquer en présence de bile. Cette capacité réduite de croissance est due à une mutation de dérive métabolique induite par l'exposition à une combinaison d'acide nalidixique et de rifampicine pendant une durée suffisante et dans des conditions suffisantes pour induire cette mutation.
