The subject-matter of the present invention is thus a process for starting up a gas phase olefin polymerisation reaction carried out using a Ziegler-Natta type catalyst based on a transition metal in a fluidized-bed reactor, through which passes a reaction gas mixture comprising the olefin, an inert gas, hydrogen and optionally at least one comonomer and which operates under conditions of temperature and pressure which make it possible to start up the polymerization, characterized in that the partial pressure of the olefin and the rate of introduction of catalyst into the reactor are increased whilst maintaining the ratios of the partial pressures of the olefin to the hydrogen and to the optional comonomer or comonomers substantially constant.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'amorcer une réaction de polymérisation d'oléfine en phase gazeuse, en utilisant un catalyseur Ziegler-Natta à base de métal de transition introduit dans un réacteur à lit fluidisé. En l'occurrence, on fait passer un mélange gazeux de réaction comprenant l'oléfine, un gaz inerte, de l'hydrogène et éventuellement au moins un comonomère. La réaction se fait dans des conditions normales de température et de pression permettant l'amorçage de la polymérisation. Ces conditions sont caractérisées en ce que la pression partielle de l'oléfine et la vitesse d'introduction du catalyseur dans le réacteur sont accrus tout en maintenant sensiblement constants les rapports entre les pressions partielles d'oléfine et pressions partielles d'hydrogène d'une part, et les pressions partielles d'oléfine et pressions partielles des comonomères facultatifs d'autre part.
