August 1991 T-2 Dr.Hov/Ka Process for the recovery of metals and coating materials from compositematerials Abstract The instant invention relates to a process for the recovery of metals and coating material from composite materia1s by treatment of the composite materials with specific solvents at elevated temperatures, whereby in the ease of metal/plastic-composite materials the plastic material is dissolved and recovered from this solution and the metal is separated in a pure state from this solution and recycled for reuse. In the case of metal/paper-composite materials the metal can also be obtained in a pure state by application of water which contains small quantities of Cl-C3-alcohols and/or C3-C4-ketones.
