- 14 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A storage and dispensing apparatus for carbonated beverages includes a body withan internal cavity, a discharge conduit extending from the cavity and a fitting with internal threads for connecting the apparatus to the neck of a beverage bottle. An element within the body has a diffuser passageway extending from the fitting to the cavity of the body. The diffuser passageway is tapered with a wider end communicating within the cavity. A tube holder in the fitting is connected to the element adjacent the passageway. A tube extends from the tube holder away from the cavity. There is a valve member which releasably engages the body to close off the discharge conduit. A lever is operatively connected to the valve member and the body to move the valve member away from the body to dispense beverages and to fill the bottle or to move the valve member into engagement with the body to close the passageway for storing the beverages.
