Publishing content associated with an electronic file attached to an electronic mail message by executing instructions contained in the electronic mail attachment and accessing the content at a remote computer server identified by the attached file. The attached file includes computer- executable instructions, such as a computer program or script, which include an identifier for a remote server connected to a distributed computer network. This identified remote server typically hosts a web site containing content intended for viewing by the recipient of the electronic mail message. In response to launching the attached file of the electronic mail message with a viewer program, a browser program can be opened to enable the recipient to view the content of the identified remote server, typically a web site on an intranet or the global Internet. This supports the communication of electronic content by using an electronic mail message to transport an electronic file attachment having instructions that, when executed by the recipient's computer, enable the recipient to view the electronic content by accessing a server computer connected to distributed computer network.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de téléchargement d'un contenu associé à un fichier électronique annexé à un message de courriel selon lequel des instructions contenues dans l'annexe du courriel sont exécutées et le contenu est présenté à un serveur informatique éloigné identifié par le fichier annexé. Le fichier annexé comprend des instructions exécutables par l'ordinateur, telles qu'un programme informatique ou un scénario, qui contiennent un identificateur destiné à un serveur éloigné connecté à un réseau d'informatique distribuée. Ce serveur éloigné identifié héberge en général un site Web contenant un contenu destiné à être vu par le destinataire du message de courriel. Suite au lancement du fichier annexé du message de courriel par un programme visualiseur, un programme explorateur peut être ouvert pour permettre au destinataire de voir le contenu du serveur éloigné identifié, en général un site Web sur intranet ou sur Internet. Ce système permet de communiquer un contenu électronique au moyen d'un message de courriel qui transporte une annexe fichier électronique contenant des instructions qui, une fois exécutées par l'ordinateur du destinataire, permettent au destinataire de voir le contenu électronique via l'accès au serveur informatique relié au réseau d'informatique distribuée.
