A heartburn and reflux disease treatment apparatus comprises an implantable stimulation device (56) adapted to engage with the cardi (62) a sphincter of a patient, who suffers from heartburn and reflux disease, and a control device (62) for controlling the stimulation device to stimulate the cardia sphincter to increase the sphincter tonus, so that the cardia completely closes. The control device is operable by the patient to control the stimulation device to continuously alternate between an operation mode, in which the cardia sphincter is stimulated with energy pulses, and a rest mode, in which the cardia sphincter is not stimulated.

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil de traitement de maladies de reflux et d'aigreurs comportant un dispositif de stimulation implantable (56) conçu de manière à venir en prise avec le cardia sphincter (62) d'un patient qui souffre de maladies de reflux et d'aigreurs, et un dispositif de contrôle (62) permettant de contrôler le dispositif de stimulation afin de stimuler le cardia sphincter et d'augmenter le tonus du sphincter de manière que le cardia soit entièrement fermé.
