The present invention relates to a method for conversion of source code into a graphically surveyable form, to permit understanding, control and follow-up of programming work: The inventive method comprises the steps of automatically converting, line by line, individual lines or groups of lines into corresponding graphic elements, the graphic elements being of.such a type as to contain essentially all the source code information that is necessary for the program; storing instructions which refer to succeeding lines in a memory and, when these lines have been found, graphically reproducing this connection; and showing the entire graphic structure of the source code with the aid a display means.
