The invention is a method of making a coated contact lens with desirable physiological performance. Preferably, the lenses are made from hydrophobic contact lens substrate with a hydrophilic coating material. The hydrophobic lens substrate is coated with a hydrophilic material having an expansion factor greater than one. The coated lenses have low physical defect and surface roughness profiles.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une lentille de contact pourvue d'un revêtement et possédant des propriétés physiologiques adéquates. Ces lentilles sont, de préférence, fabriquées à partir d'un substrat hydrophobe possédant un matériau de revêtement hydrophile. On revêt le substrat hydrophobe avec un matériau hydrophile dont le facteur de dilatation est supérieur à 1. Ces lentilles revêtues possèdent des profils pratiquement exempts de défauts physiques et de rugosité de surface.
