The invention relates to a method for decreasing the content of free formaldehyde in acidic solutions of melamine formaldehyde resins. The invention is characterized in that an acidic, aqueous solution, said solution having a pH value ranging from 0.5 to 4 and containing between 5 and 30 wt. % melamine formaldehyde resin, is reacted with 0.1 to 6 wt. %, with regard to the acidic, aqueous solution of the melamine formaldehyde resin, of an oxidizing agent selected from hydrogen peroxide, performic acid and/or peracetic acid.
L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction de la teneur en formaldéhyde libre de solutions acides de résines mélamine-formaldéhyde, qui se caractérise en ce que l'on mélange une solution aqueuse, qui présente un pH compris dans la plage 0,5-4 et contient entre 5 et 30 % en poids de résine mélamine-formaldéhyde, avec 0,1 à 6 % en poids, par rapport à la solution aqueuse de la résine mélamine-formaldéhyde, d'un agent oxydant sélectionné parmi le peroxyde d'hydrogène, l'acide performique et/ou l'acide peracétique.
