Stable foam caulk, sealant and insulation compositions are disclosed. The compositions comprise solid, waxy non-ionic lipophilic surfactants having low HLB values. These surfactants, upon foamed dispensing of the composition, provide stable support for bubbles formed from drying of a latex emulsion of a film forming polymer and a volatile liquid hydrocarbon propellant. In addition to use in caulking, sealant or insulation methods, the composition can be used to form artificial terrains and other hardenable structural surfaces as backgrounds or support means for hobbies, crafts, and the like.
L'invention concerne des compositions mousseuses stables pour le calfeutrage, l'étanchéité et l'isolation. Ces compositions contiennent des tensioactifs lipophiles, non ioniques, cireux, à l'état solide, qui ont un faible rapport hydrophile-lipophile. Lorsque la composition est distribuée sous forme de mousse, lesdits tensioactifs fournissent un support stable à des bulles formées par séchage d'une émulsion de latex d'un polymère filmogène et d'un propulseur hydrocarbure liquide volatil. Lesdites compositions peuvent être non seulement appliquées à des procédés de calfeutrage, d'étanchéité ou d'isolation, mais également utilisées pour créer des terrains artificiels ou d'autres surfaces structurelles durcissables pouvant constituer un support pour des activités artisanales ou de loisir ou des activités similaires.
