A process for producing an ester comprises the steps of: (a) feeding to a first vessel a feed that prises organic acid, alcohol, and water, whereby organic acid and alcohol react to form monomeric ester and water, and whereby a first liquid effluent is produced that comprises as its components at least some ester, alcohol, and water, the components of the first liquid effluent being substantially in reaction equilibrium; and (b) feeding the first liquid effluent to a second vessel, whereby a vapor product stream and a second liquid effluent stream are produced, the vapour stream comprising ester, alcohol, and water, wherein the second vessel is maintained substantially at vapor-liquid equilibrium but not substantially at reaction equilibrium.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'esters qui consiste à (a) alimenter un premier réacteur avec une charge comprenant un acide organique, un alcool et de l'eau, dans lequel l'acide organique et l'alcool réagissent en formant un ester monomère et de l'eau, et dans lequel est produit un premier effluent liquide qui contient comme composants au moins un peu d'ester, d'alcool, et d'eau, ces composants étant pratiquement en équilibre réactionnel, et (b) à alimenter, avec le premier effluent liquide, un second réacteur dans lequel un flux de produit vaporisé et un second flux d'effluent liquide sont produits, le flux vaporisé comprenant un ester, un alcool, et de l'eau, le second réacteur étant maintenu pratiquement dans un équilibre liquide-vapeur, mais sensiblement en dehors de la réaction d'équilibre.
