A belt clip extension is provided for use with personal use devices such as mobile electronic devices, tools, or implements, all having an integral belt clip, so that a personal use device may be clipped to the belt clip extension and be suspended from the belt of a wearer. The belt clip extension is flexible so as to be able to swing away from the belt of the wearer, and so as to be twisted about its own longitudinal axis. The belt clip extension has first and second portions, with the second portion being folded onto itself to provide a loop through which the belt of a wearer will pass, and a slot is formed in the second portion so as to receive the clip of the mobile electronic device which would normally attach to the belt of the wearer.
