ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pressure equaliser device for load balancing systems; the device comprises an hollow body (16) defining a pressure equalising chamber having fluid inlet and outlet apertures at opposite ends thereof, and a pressure release valve on the outlet side of the chamber; the pressure release valve is actuated by a floating pilot piston urged by a biasing spring to close the valve; at least one unidirectional flow passage, 23) is provided between the two side of pressure equalising chamber to feed the pressurised fluid on both sides of the floating pilot piston of the device.
