Description

An automatic fishhook setting device for incorporation in the construction of fishing hooks and lures, which automatically, upon activation of a trigger by the strike of a fish, produces a hook setting action. The device comprises a fishhook, a means for thrusting the fishhook against the mouth of a striking fish, a latch means to detain movement of the fishhook brought on by the thrusting means and a trigger. The trigger, which disengages the latch means thereby actuating the thrusting of the fishhook, is designed to be activated by a striking fish at the moment the striking fish engages the lure.
