A technique for dynamically determining the occurrence of a high impedance fault (HIF) independent of load. An HIF algorithm provides the energy value for a given number of samples of the input signal that is phase (load) currents and/or neutral (residual) current. The input signal energy value is multiplied by a factor that ranges from about 100% to about 300% to calculate a threshold energy value and the result of that calculation is stored in a buffer. A HIF detection signal is generated when the energy value determined for samples of the input signal that are the same in number as the given number of samples and taken after the given number of samples is greater than an energy value derived from a predetermined number of the calculated threshold energy values.
L'invention porte sur une technique de détermination dynamique d'une anomalie d'impédance élevée (HIF) indépendante de la charge. Un algorithme d'anomalie d'impédance élevée donne la valeur énergétique pour un nombre donné d'échantillons du signal d'entrée à savoir des courants de phase (de charge) et/ou un courant neutre (résiduel). La valeur énergétique du signal d'entrée est multipliée par un facteur compris entre environ 110 % et environ 300 % afin de calculer une valeur d'énergie seuil et le résultat de ce calcul est stocké dans un tampon. Un signal de détection d'anomalie d'impédance élevée est produit lorsque la valeur énergétique qui est déterminée pour des échantillons du signal d'entrée dont le nombre est identique au nombre donné d'échantillons et est pris après que le nombre donné d'échantillons dépasse une valeur énergétique dérivée d'un nombre prédéterminé de valeurs énergétiques seuil calculées.
