The invention relates to a method for determining the structure of a communication network (N), consisting of a plurality of network elements (NEx) joined by physical connections (PVx). The inventive method is characterised in that an attribute (Ax) is stored at a terminal (EPx) of a connection (PVx), in each network element (NEx), said attribute containing all of the information relating to the network element (NEx) adjoined by means of said connection (PVx). The structure of the entire network (N) is determined by means of the information contained in the attributes (Ax) of the connection terminals (EPx).

L'invention concerne un procédé pour déterminer la structure d'un réseau de communication (N), comprenant plusieurs éléments de réseau (NEx) et des connexions physiques (PVx) entre ces éléments de réseau (Ex). Ledit procédé se caractérise en ce que dans chaque élément de réseau (Ex), à chaque point terminal (Ex) d'une connexion (PVC), il est mémorisé un attribut (As) qui comprend l'information complète concernant cet élément de réseau (Ex) approché au moyen de cette connexion (PVx). La structure est déterminée par l'intermédiaire de l'information contenue dans les attributs des ponts terminaux de connexion (EPx).
