The fuel containment device provides a containment box and a flexible cover. The flexible cover is easily installed and precipitation tight and allows easy access to the tank and at the same time provides for adequate emergency venting. The cover may be used with a variety of different tank diameters and lengths without extensive field modifications. The containment device is portable and durable making it usable in all locations including remote areas. The containment device is also nestable for storage and for convenience of transportation. A cradle and strap arrangement provide a securing device to secure the tank within the container preventing the tank from becoming buoyant should there be a leak causing the containment box to fill with fuel. This securing device may be used with tanks having various tank diameters and without interfering with the nesting of the containment device. An opening in the cover is provided to allow access to the fill opening in the fuel tank. A weather-tight closure is provided for the opening and a means for draining any overfill or spillage from around the fill opening in the tank into the containment box.
Dispositif de retenue de combustible comprenant une boîte de retenue et un couvercle flexible. Le couvercle flexible étanche est facilement installé et permet un accès facile au réservoir tout en assurant une ventilation d'urgence suffisante. Le couvercle peut être utilisé avec des réservoirs de différents diamètres et longueurs sans exiger de modifications à l'unité. Le dispositif de retenue, portable et durable, peut être utilisé dans n'importe quel type d'emplacement, y compris les emplacements éloignés. Un ensemble berceau et bande assure un dispositif servant à fixer le réservoir à l'intérieur du contenant et empêchant le réservoir de flotter s'il y a une fuite entraînant le remplissage de la boîte de retenue par le combustible.
