A catheter assembly for stent delivery, having a having a longitudinal axis and having an engaged state and an unengaged state, the catheter comprising: a proximal member (32) and a distal member (8), the distal member having a first distal portion constructed and arranged to be retractable from the second distal portion. In the unengaged state the distal member and the proximal member are substantially moveable independently of one another in the engaged state a distal end of the proximal member is engaged to act at least a portion of the distal member, the distal member being substantially freely rotatable about the longitudinal axis and in relation to the proximal member. The proximal member is constructed and arranged to be moved in a direction along the longitudinal axis such that proximal movement of the proximal member in the engaged state retracts at least the first distal position of the distal member in the engaged state retracts at least the first distal position of the distal member form at least the second distal portion.
L'invention concerne un ensemble cathéter de mise en place d'endoprothèse possédant un axe longitudinal et présentant un état en prise et un état hors prise. Ce cathéter comprend un élément proximal (32) et un élément distal (8), l'élément distal comportant une première partie distale conçue pour se rétracter à partir de la seconde partie distale. Dans l'état hors prise, l'élément distal et l'élément proximal peuvent sensiblement se déplacer indépendamment l'un de l'autre.
