ABSTRACT Substrate compounds are reacted by passing them through an eductor with fluorine gas optionally in the presence of a liquid medium and preferably in a loop reactor with cooling means thereby providing rapid but controlled reaction suitable for industrial scale production. Vinylidene chloride, for example, smoothly produces dichlorodifluoroethane and dichlorotrifluoro- ethane in good yield.
