The present invention provides for a system and method of performing financial transactions which include a financial card that stores pre-selected transaction instructions corresponding to one or more fiancial transactions, such as cash withdrawal, or bill payment, or the like. These cards are used with one or more terminals which read the instructions on the card, interpret those instructions and execute the interpreted instructions to conduct one or more of said financial transactions. Preferably, the terminal -- after determining from the instructions on the card what functions, i.e., financial transactions, are available to the card user -- displays those options. The user then selects one of the financial transactions; the terminal based on the selection and the instructions corresponding to the selected function, executes the transaction.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant d'effectuer des transactions financières à l'aide d'une carte dans laquelle sont stockées des instructions de transactions présélectionnées correspondant à une ou à plusieurs transactions financières, telles qu'un retrait d'argent liquide ou le paiement de factures ou autres. Ces cartes sont utilisées en association avec un ou plusieurs terminaux qui lisent les instructions se trouvant sur la carte, qui interprètent ces instructions et qui exécutent les instructions interprétées afin d'effectuer une ou plusieurs transactions financières. De préférence, le terminal, après avoir déterminé à partir des instructions se trouvant sur la carte quelles sont les fonctions, c'est-à-dire les transactions financières, que l'utilisateur de la carte peut utiliser, affiche ces options. L'utilisateur sélectionne alors l'une des transactions financières; en fonction de cette sélection et des instructions qui correspondent à la fonction sélectionnée, le terminal exécute la transaction.
