A continuous monitoring system monitors atrial activity of a heart, and activates an atrial fibrillation detector when atrial fibrillation is suspected. The system includes an A wave detector (53, 55) for detecting A waves of the heart. The A wave detector has a first threshold, and a selected second threshold higher than the first threshold. An R wave detector (52) for detecting R waves of the heart is coupled to the A wave detector for selecting the second threshold of the A wave detector during each detected R wave of the heart. An atrial cycle length determining stage (64) determines atrial cycle length, and a comparator activates atrial fibrillation detection when an atrial cycle length is shorter than a predetermined cycle length.
L'invention concerne un système de surveillance en continu surveillant l'activité auriculaire d'un coeur et actionnant un détecteur de fibrillation auriculaire en cas de risque d'accident. Le système comprend un détecteur d'ondes A (53, 55) permettant de détection des ondes A du coeur et présentant un premier seuil et un second seuil sélectionné supérieur au premier seuil. Un détecteur d'ondes R (52) permettant de détecter les ondes R du coeur est relié au détecteur d'ondes A permettant de sélectionner le second seuil du détecteur d'ondes A à chaque onde R du coeur détectée. Une étape déterminant la longueur du cycle auriculaire (64) détermine la longueur du cycle auriculaire et un dispositif de comparaison met en route la détection de la fibrillation auriculaire lorsqu'une longueur de cycle auriculaire est inférieure à une longueur de cycle prédéterminée.
