An electronic protective relay (1) emulates an electromechanical protective relay so that operation of the two types of relays can be coordinated in providing protection in an electric power distribution system (3). The electronic protective relay (1) incorporates a digital processor (15) which increments a variable delay tally as an inverse current function and a fixed delay tally by a corresponding proportionate amount. During each running of the routine, only the smaller of the two tallies is increased so that they are forced to track one another. When both tallies reach a trip value, a trip signal is generated. The processor (15) also applied a reset function when the measured current is below a pickup value. In accordance with the preferred reset feature, the variable delay tally is reduced using an inverse current function and the fixed delay is reduced by the same amount.
L'invention concerne un relais de protection électronique (1) qui émule un relais de protection électromécanique de sorte que la protection assurée par les deux types de relais puisse être coordonnée dans un réseau de distribution d'énergie électrique. Ce relais de protection électronique (1) comprend un processeur numérique (15) qui incrémente une valeur de comptage de retard variable au moyen d'une fonction de courant inverse et une valeur de comptage de retard fixe au moyen d'une valeur proportionnelle correspondante. A chaque exécution de la routine, seule la valeur de comptage la plus faible est augmentée de sorte que les deux valeurs de comptage sont forcées de se suivre. Lorsque les deux valeurs de comptage atteignent une valeur de déclenchement, un signal de déclenchement est généré. Le processeur (15) applique également une fonction de réinitialisation lorsque le courant mesuré est inférieur à une valeur d'excitation. Selon la caractéristique de réinitialisation préférée, la valeur de comptage de retard variable est réduite au moyen d'une fonction de courant inverse et le retard fixe est réduit de la même valeur.
