A B R E G E Procédé d'élaboration d'azote ultra-pur à teneur en impuretés inférieure à 100 ppb (parties par milliard), caractérisé en ce qu'on élimine au moins les impuretés constituées par le monoxyde de carbone (CO) et/ou l'hydrogène (H2) par passage du gaz à épurer en au moins un de ces deux constituants sur un lit de particules incorporant un élément métallique cuivre (Cu) et/ou ruthénium (Ru) et/ou rhodium (Rh) et/ou palladium (Pd) et/ou osmium (Os) et/ou iridium (Ir) et/ou platine (Pt) supporté sur un support particulaire selon la technique d'échange d'ions et/ou selon la technique d'imprégnation. Cette technique permet d'obtenir de l'azote ultra-pur en l'appliquant soit sur l'azote de distillation, soit sur l'air a distiller en complément de l'arrêt CO2 et H2O. Un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé est un autre objet de l'invention.
