ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An antireflection coated substrate for analytical slides used in automated clinical analyzers comprises a planar transparent support for an analytical slide having on one major surface thereof an antireflection coating adapted to minimize reflection at an air-substrate interface and on the other major surface thereof a second antireflection coating adapted to minimize reflection at an analytical solution-substrate interface. Analytical slides comprise the antireflection coated substrate and one or more layers superimposed on the substrate which contain analytical reagents for developing a color when contacted with an analyte in a sample solution.
