The invention relates to the use of certain low affinity NMDA antagonists as antidepressant agents. Preferred compounds include compounds of formula (I) wherein R1 is pyridyl, phenyl or 4-fluorophenyl; R2 is phenyl or 4- fluorophenyl; R3 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl or methoxycarbonyl; R4 is hydrogen or methyl; and R5 is hydrogen or COCH2NH2, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de certains antagonistes du NMDA (N-méthyl-D-aspartate), de faible affinité, en tant qu'agents antidépresseurs. Des composés préférés comprennent des composés correspondant à la formule (I) dans laquelle R?1¿ représente pyridyle, phényle ou 4-fluorophényle; R?2¿ représente phényle ou 4-fluorophényle; R?3¿ représente hydrogène, alkyle C¿1-6? ou méthoxycarbonyle; R?4¿ représente hydrogène ou méthyle, et R?5¿ représente hydrogène ou COCH¿2?NH¿2?.
