Apparatus for delivering stents to body lumens include one or more tubular prostheses carried at the distal end of a catheter shaft, a sheath slidably disposed over the prostheses, and a guidewire tube extending from within the sheath to the exterior of the sheath through an exit port in a sidewall thereof. A guidewire extends slidably through the guidewire tube. The sheath can be moved relative to the catheter shaft and the guidewire tube to expose the prostheses for deployment. Methods of delivering stents are also provided.

L'invention concerne un appareil pour délivrer des stents dans des lumières du corps consistant en une ou plusieurs prothèses tubulaires portées à l'extrémité distale d'une tige de cathéter, en une gaine disposée de manière à pouvoir coulisser sur lesdites prothèses, et en un tube à fil-guide s~étendant de l'intérieur à l'extérieur de ladite gaine par un port de sortie formé dans sa paroi latérale. Un fil-guide s~étend en coulissant à travers le tube à fil-guide. La gaine peut être déplacée par rapport à la tige de cathéter et au tube à fil-guide pour exposer les prothèses à déployer. L'invention concerne également des méthodes pour positionner des stents.
