The invention relates to the use of single fumaric acid derivatives, or mixtures thereof for producing a pharmaceutical preparation used to treat mitochondrial diseases, in particular to treat Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's chorea, pigmental retinopathy and mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. The fumaric acid derivative or derivatives are selected from the group consisting of fumaric acid dialkyl esters and fumaric acid monoalkyl esters and take the form of free acids or a salt thereof.

Utilisation de dérivés individuels d'acide fumarique ou de leurs mélanges pour produire une préparation pharmaceutique destinée à traiter les maladies mitochondriales, en particulier la maladie de Parkinson, la maladie d'Alzheimer, la chorée de Huntington, la rétinopathie pigmentaire et l'encéphalomyopathie mitochondriale.
