A bending apparatus has a die, a first clamp for clamping an elongate work piece into engagement with the die forward of the transverse centre line of the die on one side of the die and a second clamp for clamping the elongate work piece into engagement with the die forward of the transverse centre line of the die on the other side of the die. The first and second clamps are rotatable around the axis of the die to bend the elongate work piece. The first and second clamps are each movable between a retracted position in which the clamp is separated laterally from the die and is located below the plane in which the work piece is to be bent and an engaged position in which the clamp is in clamping engagement with the die.
Appareil de pliage comprenant une matrice, une première pince permettant de serrer une pièce allongée à ouvrier dans un engagement avec la matrice vers l'avant de la ligne médiane transversale de la matrice sur un côté de celle-ci, ainsi qu'une seconde pince permettant de serrer la pièce à ouvrier dans un engagement avec la matrice vers l'avant de la ligne centrale transversale de la matrice de l'autre côté de celle-ci. La première et la seconde pinces tournent autour d'un axe de la matrice afin de plier la pièce à ouvrier. Elles se déplacent entre une position rétractée, dans laquelle la pince est séparée latéralement de la matrice et est située sous le rabot où la pièce à ouvrier doit être pliée, et une position engagée dans laquelle la pince est en engagement de serrage avec la matrice.
