An improved screwdriver in which a replaceable bit is removably secured to a mandrel of the bit being axially slidable in an axial socket in the end of the mandrel. A resilient ring which serves to retain the bit and the socket is carried by and replaceable with the bit. The replaceable bit is removably secured in an axial socket in the end of the mandrel with the slot extending radially inwardly into the socket rearward of the bit. A separate bit removing lever tools provided to assist in removal of the bit from the socket by extending into the slot in the socket rearward of the bit.
