The invention concerns a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition containing, as an active ingredient, caffeic acid or one of its esters or amides, optionally in association with hydroquinone or one of its esters, kojic acid or a water soluble copper salt. This composition, applied to the skin, has a depigmenting action. The invention also concerns a cosmetic treatment process using the composition defined above and the use of caffeic acid or one of its esters or amides for treatment through topical application of pathological or accidental hyperpigmentation.

Cette composition, appliquée sur la peau, a une action dépigmentante.
