In a apparatus used for the delivery of Case 1: aerosol medication or Case 2: oxygen gas to a patient. The apparatus in the case of a aerosol or oxygen delivery system is of a continuous flow type, with no means of interrupting the supply during exhalation in an effort to economize the waste of medications. In this invention, a sensor is mounted inside the facial mask, which provides a electrical signal to a control circuit which in turn re-routes or stops the flow of compressed air or oxygen during respiratory patient exhalation cycles by means of a electrically activated flow valve.
