The invention concerns a filtering element for filtering a fluid wherein the filtering element (14) is designed to be used in a filtering device (10), comprising a cylindrical case (12), wherein the filtering element (14) is made of an absorbent paper material, in the form of a sheet, arranged so as to form a tubular cylinder, and wherein the filtering element (14) is arranged in the case (12) so as to separate an outer radial part (26) from an inner radial part (30), the fluid circulating through the filtering element (14) along a general centripetal direction, characterised in that the filtering element (14) does not comprise a central mandrel.
