Disclosed are: a method for producing a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) or a lipid containing the PUFA; a microbial cell containing the PUFA; and use of the microbial cell. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) or a lipid containing the PUFA, which comprises culturing a microorganism capable of producing arachidonic acid (ARA) and/or dihomo-.gamma.-linolenic acid (DGLA). The method involves at least one step selected from the following steps (a) to (c): (a) adding an organic acid to a culture medium in an amount of 0.01 to 5 w/v% after the main culture is started; (b) increasing the pH value ofa culture medium to an extent effective for the culture after the main culture is started; and (c) adding a sulfate salt of a meta ion to the culture medium for the main culture in an amount of 0.01 to 0.5 w/w%.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'un acide gras polyinsaturé (PUFA) ou d'un lipide contenant le PUFA ; sur une cellule microbienne contenant le PUFA ; et sur l'utilisation de la cellule microbienne. De façon précise, l'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'un acide gras polyinsaturé (PUFA) ou d'un lipide contenant le PUFA, qui comprend la mise en culture d'un microorganisme qui peut produire de l'acide arachidonique (ARA) et/ou de l'acide dihomo-.gamma.-linolénique (DGLA).
